The Mozambique Social Protection Project aims to provide temporary income support to extremely poor households and establish the foundation of a social safety net system. Key components include institutional strengthening for the implementation of the national basic social security strategy and labor-intensive public works programs in rural and urban areas.
The Mangroves for Coastal Resilience Project aims to enhance the resilience of coastal ecosystems and communities by restoring and conserving mangroves. The project includes components for mangrove afforestation, supporting sustainable livelihoods, and strengthening integrated coastal management. These efforts reduce disaster risk, mitigate coastal flooding, and protect biodiversity.
The objective of this pilot-scale project is to 1) to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Housing and Environment and local councils in planning and demonstration of community based wetland management, and 2) to implement a coral reef monitoring system.
