The Project Development Objective is to improve protected areas management, and to promote ecotourism
opportunities and non-timber forest product value chains in the Cardamom Mountains-Tonle Sap landscape. The project aims to sustain and increase forest cover which will reduce soil erosion, maintain or improve water quality for downstream users, provide protection to farms and villages located in floodprone areas, reduce GHG emissions, and protect critical natural habitats. 

The development objective of the Espírito Santo Water Security Management Project for Brazil is to: (i) to strengthen the Borrower’s capacity to manage water security risks in a changing climate; (ii) to reduce those risks in selected areas of the Borrower’s territory; and (iii) in case of an eligible crisis or emergency, respond promptly and effectively to it. The project comprises of five components. The project will implement NBS to reduce water security risks in selected river basins and support integrated flood risk management. 

The objectives of the Amazon Sustainable Landscapes Project are to expand the area under legal protection and improve management of Protected Areas, and increase the area under restoration and sustainable management in the Brazilian Amazon. There are four components to the project, the first component being amazon protected areas system. This component aims to expand and consolidate an over-60-million-ha PA system in the Brazilian Amazon and advance ongoing efforts to secure its long-term financial sustainability by capitalizing the ARPA Transition Fund.

The development objective of the Climate Resilience - Integrated Basin Management Project for Bolivia is to support the implementation of Borrower's strategic program for climate resilience by: (a) strengthening the Borrower's institutional capacity to define the new integrated river basin management approach to climate change adaptation; and (b) supporting its implementation in three pilot sub-basins in the Rio Grande basin. The project improved natural resources management through the implementation of land and water conservation sub-project

The development objective of the Gazetted Forests Management Project for Benin is to improve the integrated management of targeted Gazetted Forests, to increase access of the main consumption cities to fuelwood produced sustainably, and to strengthen selected non-timber forest product value chains for forest-dependent communities. The project aims to promote agroforestry to reduce deforestation and forest degradation, as well as conduct vegetation/reforestation activities to regenerate degraded land.

The project's global environmental objective (GEO) is the same as the project's development objective (PDO), namely, to improve governance and promote sustainable land use activities in order to reduce deforestation and conserve biodiversity in the Project area. The project will restore forested areas and train communities on forestry management.

The project aims to increase preparedness against food insecurity and improve the resilience of food systems in participating countries. It will finance sub-projects, including scaling up delivery of climate smart agriculture technologies such as re-afforestation and restoring degraded water catchment areas through tree planting.

Investments will include a variety of green infrastructure measures, sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices, and livelihoods diversification. Green infrastructure will be designed in conjunction with gray infrastructure to optimize the functionality, cost-effectiveness, and resilience of the integrated natural and built system.

The project used farmer-led natural regeneration, which is mostly to create food forests, but also improve forest cover to reduce water runoff and maximizing rain infiltration (and protection from wind).

The project has been restructured to include nature-based solutions, which aligns with their NDC ambitions. They will use NBS relating to forests, conservation, and other to meet PDO. The work will be implemented by the National Disaster Risk Management Fund. It will also have community resilience component.
